Initié par l’Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie, le réseau pour l’égalité femme-homme regroupe des représentants de réseaux francophones, d’ONG et d’associations, et vise à faire progresser l’égalité femme-homme et l’autonomisation des femmes par l’échange, le débat, la mobilisation et le plaidoyer.

Genre en Action, représenté par Mama Koité et Lucille Terré, a participé au lancement du réseau francophone pour l’égalité à Dakar. Genre en Action est membre fondateur et membre de la coordination du réseau.

« Après deux jours de débat à Dakar les 28 au 29 janvier 2014, 16 ONG et réseaux internationaux ont décidé de collaborer au sein du nouveau Réseau francophone pour l’égalité femmes/hommes. Une charte et un plan d’action ont été adoptés. Initiée par l’Organisation internationale de la Francophonie, la structure se veut légère et réactive pour faire entendre la voix des 120 millions de femmes francophones dans le monde.

Abdou Diouf, le président de l’Organisation internationale de la Francophonie et ancien président du Sénégal, l’attendait depuis longtemps. C’est désormais chose faite : le réseau francophone pour l’égalité femmes/hommes est né à Dakar le 29 janvier 2014. 16 ONG et réseaux internationaux ont signé une charte et élu un bureau souple et léger constitué de 5 personnes dont une coordinatrice principale, Ndioro Ndiaye, ancienne ministre sénégalaise, fondatrice de l’Alliance pour la migration, le leadership et le développement.

Trois objectifs ont été définis :
1. Débusquer toutes les niches d’inégalités tant au niveau des législations nationales qu’au niveau des conventions internationales.
2. Evaluer la mise en application des déclarations et textes adoptés pour faire avancer l’égalité entre les sexes.
3. Oeuvrer pour la paix dans un espace francophone qui connaît de multiples conflits, dernièrement en Centrafrique et au Mali mais aussi dans l’Est de la République démocratique du Congo, au sud du Sénégal en Casamance, en Guinée Conakry...

Pour le prochain sommet de la Francophonie qui aura lieu à Dakar en novembre 2014 et sera dédié aux femmes et aux jeunes, le réseau aura tout son rôle à jouer. Il va participer aux réunions préparatoires et aux choix des orientations générales. D’ici là, il espère compter de nouveaux membres pour refléter au mieux la diversité de la société civile francophones. » Par Camille Sarret / Terriennes.
