Par Julie RODRIGUE. L’actrice est une femme dans une société patriarcale, au sein de laquelle les hommes sont majoritairement décisionnaires, dans l’industrie du cinéma comme dans celui du spectacle vivant.

L’homme et la femme véhiculent donc les contenus, les idées et les valeurs de cette société. Les rôles de femmes sont aujourd’hui toujours stéréotypés.
L’idéal féminin a évolué au fil des siècles : de l’esclave sexuel à la Madone, de la femme au foyer à la femme fatale, de la lolita à la superwoman, du garçon manqué à l’ingénue, de l’amazone à l’intellectuelle...
Une panoplie d’images stéréotypées encercle la femme et l’enferme jusque dans son cercueil, pour enfin enterrer son être et sa mémoire.

Dans la société traditionnelle et contemporaine, un des effets pervers de l’éducation est de créer des constructions imaginaires et ainsi d’ amener une femme à croire que c’est sa volonté personnelle de correspondre aux clichés. Où se situe alors la volonté de l’actrice ? L’accepte-t-elle ? Ou est-elle contrainte de par sa condition de femme, d’inspirer le désir par la représentation d’un idéal de beauté dans une majorité de film ?
L’actrice est la femme dirigée par l’homme par excellence puisque l’industrie du cinéma bien que récente n’en est pas moins le véhicule de représentation des traditions.
L’actrice cherche donc sa place dans des projets dirigés majoritairement par les hommes, ce n’est donc pas une place de choix mais une éducation reçue qui la détermine. Ce n’est pas le cinéma, le théâtre, la littérature qui sont particulièrement sexistes, mais qui, servant de miroir aux êtres, lesdépeignent à travers divers formes, dans un contexte culturel (international) qui veut que la femme ne soit pas l’égale de l’homme. De par l’éducation et les structures sociales cette inégalité et son influence perdure. L’actrice participe de l’aliénation de sa propre image pour continuer à exercer sa profession.
Peut-être sous-estime t’on la force des images et plus particulièrement la symbolique sexiste véhiculée ; qu’elle soit dessinée, filmée ou sculptée elle a son importance puisqu’elle diffuse une idéologie.

Comment envisager un changement ?

La femme est soumise à des normes dissimulées sous le concept de la féminité qu’elle revêt comme une tenue, qui traditionnellement fait de la femme, un être qui doit créer une distance avec son propre corps, pour devenir féminine. Il me semble bien que dans cette société toujours centrée sur le masculin, l’existence de la femme est par définition marginale.
Mais accepter cette condition, se marginaliser n’est pas chose aisée et c’est bien pour cela qu’un réel changement de valeur ne s’opère qu’avec beaucoup de difficultés. Alors, comment éprouver son existence individuelle de femme ?
Si l’actrice est la femme qui existe de par son image (comme c’est le cas de la femme dans la société patriarcale), c’est-à-dire par une représentation objective et normative, c’est donc cette image même qui est à réinventer. Au lieu de faire de l’image le déni de l’existence peut-être faut-il en faire une existence même. De sorte que l’image transcende l’identité de la femme pour en créer une nouvelle. Il est temps de dépasser cette image réductrice de l’actrice objet de fantasme, la femme est plus que cela et si la femme fatale est le fantasme de l’homme par excellence, la femme quant à elle peut inverser ce processus et devenir celle qui fantasme.
