Engagée pour le développement social et économique des femmes et des filles au Cameroun où elle vit depuis sa naissance, Anne Pélagie Yotchou Tzudjom a rejoint le réseau Genre en Action en 2007.

Elle est une des membres fondatrices de l’association, créée en 2009 à l’issue du colloque "Genre et gouvernance" (Ile Maurice), et devenue le moteur du réseau Genre en Action. Elle en a été la vice-secrétaire de 2009 à 2013. A la suite des élections au sein de l’association début 2014, elle est membre du Conseil d’Administration.

Un engagement national et international en faveur de l’autonomisation des femmes et des filles

Au niveau local, Anne Pélagie Yotchou Tzudjom est très active dans le tissu associatif camerounais. Elle a été volontaire, puis membre de Nouveaux Droits de l’Homme et directrice du Mandela Center, un centre d’accueil d’urgence et d’assistance aux femmes victimes de torture et d’injustices sociales. Elle a également été chargée de mission auprès de la diaspora au sein de la Plateforme de la Société Civile pour la démocratie au Cameroun. Elle est aujourd’hui coordinatrice du CEFAP-LADIES CIRCLE et membre du FERAFCAM, Fédération des Réseaux d’Associations Féminines du Cameroun.

A l’échelle internationale, Anne Pélagie Yotchou est membre de plusieurs réseaux et fédérations intervenant sur les questions de genre et développement : Genre en Action, ROFAF (Réseau des Organisations Féminines en Afrique Francophone), AWID (Association for Women’s rights and Developement) , WIN (Women International Networking) , IAW (International Women Alliance), EQUITAS (Centre International de Formation aux Droits Humains).

"Pour moi, l’autonomisation des femmes et des filles est l’une des clés pour faire avancer la justice, l’égalité des genres et éradiquer les violences et discriminations sexistes. Vivement une culture mondiale des droits humains avec une approche égalité homme/femme".

Avec son autre casquette d’informaticienne, Anne Pélagie conduit plusieurs programmes de formations aux TICs en vue de familiariser les femmes leaders en milieu rural à l’informatique et booster leur participation dans la gouvernance pour un développement durable en tant qu’actrices principales dans leurs communautés.

Le CEFAP-LADIES CIRCLE

Actuellement, Anne Pélagie Yotchou coordonne l’organisation CEFAP-LADIES CIRCLE qui est une synergie de femmes - et d’hommes aussi, ayant décidé en 2005 de se regrouper pour apporter leur pierre à la construction d’un Cameroun plus "juste, équitable et inclusif". Leurs actions prioritaires sont l’avancement des droits sociaux, économiques et culturels des femmes et des filles, la justice, la promotion de la prise en compte du genre dans la gestion des communautés et le soutien multiforme aux femmes et filles en difficulté sociale.

  • « Accueil des familles des détenues » : ce projet, qui est une initiative innovatrice au Cameroun, a été inspiré par une visite à la Maison d’arrêt de Nantes ou Pélagie a pu, grâce à Prison Justice 44, constaté l’accueil convivial qui est fait aux familles des détenu-e-s contrairement au Cameroun : les familles attendent sous le soleil et sous la pluie. Ce projet va aussi contribuer à renforcer le lien familial entre les détenu-e-s et leurs familles, à encourager les familles à ne pas couper le lien avec leur proche détenu-e et multiplier leur visite à leur proche. En effet, les conditions d’attente dans de longues files sont de nature à décourager les familles à aller rendre visite à leur proche détenu-e.
